We Pause to Thank Varda Weisskopf

Today we had hoped to rendezvous with Varda Weisskopf, but some unexpected conflicts arose and we couldn’t make all the connections work. So we pause here to salute her instead.

Would we even be here without the extraordinary work of Varda? Probably not.

Matthew Rozell puts it this way:

“This critical testimony-gathering trip to Israel, on short notice, and the connections to most of the 300-plus survivors, could not have happened without researcher and survivor’s daughter Varda Weisskopf’s efforts.”

And the now-famous reunion in Israel in 2011 happened because of Varda’s efforts. She organized the event that brought together nearly 500 people, including 55 survivors, representatives from the U.S. Embassy in Israel and from the Bergen-Belsen Museum in Germany, and liberator Frank Towers…!
