One of our most remarkable interviews yet, and that’s saying something.
Today we were welcomed into the high-rise home of Ruth Fussman, who was not only on the train, but can identify herself in one of the photos taken on the day of its liberation.
One of the things I found most profound about this interview was the enthusiastic presence of her grandson, who is an Israeli Air Force paratrooper — all grown up from the days when he was immortalized in the portrait on her wall.
Ruth is a woman who loves her children and grandchildren, and it is clear they adore and admire her. Always good to see!
